Training Records
When you receive your unit's charter paperwork you find a "N" (No) next to your name under the column titled "Trained", but it should be a "Y" (Yes).
Over the past year the Council Training Committee has been gathering updated records on many individual Scouters in the Clinton Valley Council to correct this information. There has been a large amount of success, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. At the office the training records sheets have been re-entered from 2000 to today. This Excel file (click the Excel logo to the right) contains three new forms that can be updated and emailed to the Program Secretary. This file includes a Cub Scout Leader, Boy Scout/Venture Leader and a General Training form, if you could enter your information and email this for to the office we will get your information update.
The council training team understands that the records are not up to date, but this is the only way to make the updates correctly. Some of the problems: Not registered as taking "New Leaders Essentials" or you have changed your position and the leader specific training has been updated.
Help us help you by updating these spreadsheets and emailing them to the Program Secretary Amy Dubovik. |
There is online training* available from BSA for Cub Scout Fast Start, Boy Scout, and Venturing Fast Start as well as Youth Protection Training. There are also online components for Safe Swim Defense/Safety Afloat Training. You will need to create an account and your BSA person ID number will be needed. In addition, MyScouting is designed to work with Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and needs an up-to-date version of Adobe Flash Player.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a part of the BSA Online Recharter or Advancement system or the Doubleknot system. This means that the Online Recharter, Online Advancement, or Doubleknot User ID and Password will NOT work when logging in to MyScouting. In order to access MyScouting you must create a new profile. If you have an E-Learning (the old system) profile, your records will transfer into your MyScouting profile when you enter your person ID.
If you have entered your BSA Person ID number in your profile your training records with BSA will be updated to reflect the completion of the training you take online. There will also be a certificate that you can print out for your records. If you lose this certificate you will be able to print out a duplicate.
