Celebrate 100 years of Scouting in style at the 2010 National Jamboree. The 2010 National Jamboree will be held Monday, July 26, through Wednesday, August 4, 2010, at Fort A.P. Hill, Caroline County, and Virginia. Our council jamboree committee is organizing a fun tour of Washington, D.C. prior to our arrival at the national jamboree. We estimate our departure to be Thursday July 22, 2010 and returning on August 4, 2010.
Applications for the 2010 National Scout Jamboree must be completed online. There are three types of application available:
- 2010 National Staff Jamboree Staff Application
- Staff positions are open to youth/adult men and women currently registered with the BSA. Adult staff members must be born before July 26, 1989. Youth staff members must have been born between August 4, 1989 and July 26, 1994.
- 2010 National Scout Jamboree Adult Troop Leader Application
- Adults whi wish to apply for the 2010 NSJ in an Adult Troop Leader capacity.
- 2010 National Scout Jamboree Youth Participant Application
- Parents may submit an application for their child to attend the 2010 National Scout Jamboree. To be eligible for consideration, your child must be an actively registered youth member, a First Class Scout and 12 years old or have completed the sixth grade by July 1, 2010.
You may only submit one application per person. Some people are attempting to apply for multiple jamboree categories. (i.e.: Adult troop leader and a staff position.) Each applicant needs to decide which they would prefer to apply for and apply for that one category only.
Boy Scout Qualifications
Scouts who participate in the 2010 National Jamboree are selected by the more than 300 local councils. In order to be placed in one of the five council contingent troops each Scout must :
- Be at least a First Class Scout.
- Have completed sixth grade or be at least 12 years of age by July 1, 2010, and have not reached his 18th birthday by August 3, 2010 .
- Participate in the prejamboree training experience.
- Have filed a Personal Health and Medical Record Form, Class 3, No 67-34412, before the prejamboree training .
- Have been active in a troop or team for at least six months prior to July 1, 2010 .
- Be approved by his Scoutmaster or Varsity Scout Coach.
- Be approved by the local council jamboree committee.

- 2010 NSJ Staff - Edit Existing Application
- Use this form if you would like to make a payment or edit your existing application information. You will need your Registration Code from your confirmation email to enter the site.
- 2010 NSJ Adult Leader - Edit Existing Application
- Use this form if you would like to make a payment or edit your existing application information. You will need your Registration Code from your confirmation email to enter the site.
- 2010 NSJ Youth - Edit existing Application
- Use this form if you would like to make a payment or edit your existing application information. You will need your Registration Code from your confirmation email to enter the site.
- Select your appropriate application and complete the registration form as prompted.
- Each Scout/Scouter applying to be a participant with one of the five Clinton Valley Council contingent troops will be required to pay $10 of which none is refundable. If you are applying to be a staff member you will be required to pay $100 online at the time of registration, of which $50 is refundable.
- Adults and youth applying to attend with of the five Clinton Valley Council contingent troops, print out your registration and submit the complete registration form, with your Scoutmaster's signature, a $250 deposit, and a completed and signed Council Appraisal Form to the Clinton Valley Council office. Once the first 180 Boy Scout position are filled, a waiting list will start.
- Those applying to be on NSJ staff will ned to submit their application and Council Appraisal Form.
- Scouters wishing to be the Scoutmaster or assistant Scoutmaster in a CVC contingent troop must go through an interview process and be accepted by the 2010 CVC contingent leadership selection team and meet all the requirements to be a 2010 National Jamboree adult leader.
- Each registration must be approved by the Clinton Valley Council and the Central Region.
