Camp Agawam 90th Anniversary CSPs

Camp Agawam 90th Anniversary CSPs

In 1918 a group of great leaders had a vision to provide a camping experience to their youth. Little did they know that this vision would last 90th years and still be going strong. Camp Agawam is the 11th oldest operational Boy Scout Camp in the United States. The members of Clinton Valley Council are very lucky to own a piece of history that is so close.
If you haven't camped at Camp Agawam lately you are missing out on a great experience. To help commemorate this milestone the Clinton Valley Council is issuing three limited edition Council Shoulder Strips (CSP's). Sliver Border $15, Bronze Border $25 and Full Mylar $50.

The Ranger's Report

November 2007 - Rock the Road

Road repair at Camp Agawam

It was cold, wet, and windy on Tuesday, November 6 when the first 250 tons of much needed aggregate arrived at Camp Agawam on 5 gravel-haulers.  This amount of material provides 4 inches of coverage on 600 feet of roadway between the Peterson parking lot and the Prayer of the Woods sign.

The need for road improvements cannot be overstated.  To cover only the most critical main roads of the camp several hundred more tons of aggregate will be needed.  Please help improve our roads by contributing to the “Rock the Road” fund.  We will continue to make improvements in several phases, as donations are received.

Note: This project is possible in large part because of the support of the Edw. C. Levy Company.  By selling the material to us at a “rock-bottom” price (no pun intended), and helping to spread the material (that is their dozer in the photo), the cost of this project has been reduced dramatically.  We are extremely grateful for their support.  To continue, we need your support.

Camp Agawam Wish List - Updated for Fall 2007

In order to improve the camp facilities the camp needs volunteers to help in securing needed supplies. If you can help by donating any of the materials on the Camp Agawam Wish List please contact the camp ranger.
